Eugenia C. Soltis
(March 19, 1923 - April 7, 2014)



Eugenia C. Soltis, 91, of Huntington, widow of Stephen "Steve" Soltis, passed away Monday April 7, 2014 at Teays Valley Center, Hurricane, WV. Funeral liturgy will be conducted at 10 am Tuesday at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Father Dean Borgmeyer. Rite of Committal will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. She was born March 19, 1923 in San Francisco, California, a daughter of the late Ottavio and Mary DelBucchia Casini. She was a veteran of the US Army having served as a nurse during WWII. She was a member of the St. Claire's Guild of St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Mary's Hospital Auxiliary, Beverly Hills Woman's Club, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Democratic Woman's Club of Huntington. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her brother Dalvin Casini. Survivors include two sons and daughters in law George Michael (Peggy) Soltis of South Charleston, WV and Thomas John Soltis, M.D. (Susan) of Simsbury, Connecticut; five grandchildren Lucia Irene Soltis, M.D. of Huntington, Juliana Marie Soltis of Oberlin, Ohio, Stephen Frederick Soltis of Lexington, KY, Jennifer Ann Soltis of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Heather Marie Soltis of Simsbury, Conn. and a long time family friend Pat Bertoia. Contributions may be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church. Friends may call from 7 to 8 pm Monday at the Reger Funeral Home.
