Arthur Maxwell Ray
(May 27, 1934 - April 28, 2014)



Arthur Maxwell Ray, 79, of Huntington, passed away Monday April 28, 2014 at St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 am Thursday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Phil Wilson. Burial will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV. He was born May 27, 1934 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Guy and Mabel Baumgardner Ray. Arthur was a Korean War Veteran having served with the United States Marine Corps. He was also a retired employee of Owens-Illinois. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by a sister Ellen Lee Sierer. Survivors include his companion Lynn Adkins; children Mark (Paula) Ray, David (Jill) Ray and Deena (Jack) Spurlock; step children Doug Adkins, John Adkins, Chris Hunt and Magan Murray; grandchildren Carl, Christopher, Kayla, Joshua, Jacob, Emily, Briana, Jeremy, Tayton, Gavin, Bailey, Brycen, Landon and Caden; great grandchildren Maura and Harper; brothers Charles Ray and Guy Scott; sister Rose Marie; nieces and nephews Gary, Nancy, Darren, Paul, Robert, Rhonda, Cindy and J.R. and many friends. Friends may call from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday at the Reger Funeral Home. American Legion Post 93 of Kenova, WV will conduct graveside military rites.
