James Allen Chinn
(June 8, 1933 - August 5, 2014)



James Allen Chinn, 81, of Huntington, passed away Tuesday August 5, 2014 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Graveside funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Thursday at the Abbey of Devotion, Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington. James was a Veteran of the US Navy having served during the Korean War. The Veterans Honor Guard of American Legion Post 16 of Huntington will conduct the graveside rites. He was born June 8, 1933 in Huntington, WV, a son of the late Lucian Lee and Virginia Dare Gill Chinn. He was a retired plumber with the Plumbers Local 521 of Huntington. James was a member of the VFW Post 9738 of Guyandotte, the DAV Chapter 2 of Huntington and the American Legion Post 16 of Huntington. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife Helen Mullens Chinn. Survivors include two sons and a daughter in law Marty Chinn and James Chinn, Jr. and Janine Chinn all of Huntington; two daughters and a son in law Shelia and Danny Bryan and Linda Ramey all of Huntington; five grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; brother Lucian Lee Chinn, Jr.; nieces, nephews and special friends Dave and Trish. There will be no visitation nor procession to the cemetery. Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
