Joe Navy
(July 7, 1924 - August 29, 2014)



Joe Navy, 90, of Huntington, W. Va., passed away Friday, August 29, 2014 at Riverbend, South Point, Ohio. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 pm Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Will Basham and Pastor Ryan Navy. Burial will follow in Greenbottom Memorial Park, Greenbottom, WV. He was born July 7, 1924 in War, WV a son of the late Angelo and Frances Bosco Navy. He was a retired truck driver with 30 years of service for Smith Transfer and was a member of the Teamsters Union. Joe was a US Army Veteran having served during WWII and was a member of the VFW Post 9738 of Guyandotte. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children Helen Navy; siblings Louie Navy, Mario Navy, Angelo Navy, Jr., Mike Navy, Rosie Navy, Ellen Navy Cavender, John Navy, Jimmy Navy, Mary Navy Davis, Tony Navy and Freddie Navy. Survivors include a son and daughter in law David and Peggy Navy of Huntington; daughter and son in law Gina and Jeffrey Broce of Huntington; grandchildren Kelly Broce, Stacy Broce, Pastor Ryan Navy and his wife Allison Navy and Christa Navy; great grandchildren Marlon Jones, Talia Jones, Aubrey Parker and Alexandra Broce; sister in law Opal Navy Grassioto of West Virginia; a host of very special nieces and nephews and his devoted companion Lila Hayes. Friends may call from noon until service time on Tuesday at the Reger Funeral Home. . The Veterans Honor Guard of the American Legion Post 16 of Huntington will conduct military graveside rites.
