George Alfred Mills, Jr.
(November 10, 1922 - November 16, 2014)



GEORGE A. MILLS, JR. , 92, of Huntington, died Sunday, November 16, 2014, at the Wyngate Senior Living Community facility in Barboursville. He was born November 10, 1922, in Huntington, a son of the late George and Mary Mills. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Stafford Mills, of Huntington; two sisters, Bernice Mills and Edith Mills Wolfe, of Huntington; a brother, Howard L. Mills, of Huntington; a daughter, Rebecca Mills Queen, of Huntington; and a grandson, Ryan Matthew Queen, of Huntington. A lifelong resident of Huntington, he was a graduate of St. Joseph High School and was the owner/operator of Mills Amusement Company. George was a veteran of the US Navy having served during WWII. He is survived by a sister, Mary Mills Niehaus, of Jacksonville, Florida; two sons, George A. Mills, III (Rebecca), of Morgantown, WV, and Richard B. Mills (Giovanna), of Palmetto, Florida; a son-in-law, Larry P. Queen, of Huntington; three grandchildren, Stacy Queen, of Huntington, Jennifer Mills Davis (Gary), of Tampa, Florida, Jeff Mills, of Tampa, Florida and a granddaughter in law Andrea Queen. He is also survived by four great grandchildren, Jacob and Taryn Queen, of Huntington, and Patrick and Kathryn Davis, of Tampa, Florida. A Funeral Liturgy will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 19, 2014, at St. Joseph Catholic Church by Father Dean Borgmeyer and interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. until the service on Wednesday. The American Legion Post 93 of Kenova will conduct graveside military rites. The family wishes to extend their most sincere and deepest appreciation to the staff at Wyngate and Hospice of Huntington. Reger Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
