Mary Catherine Deal
(June 20, 1933 - February 13, 2015)


MARY CATHERINE DEAL, 81, of Birmingham, AL, formally of Huntington, WV, widow of William F. Deal, had a heavenly homecoming Friday, February 13, 2015, at her home. Mary was a retired office supervisor from Tri-State MRI and an active member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, great grandmother, and friend. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William F. Deal, and parents Mae Newman and Robert Baumgardner. She is survived by her children, son Daniel (Denise) F. Deal of Lexington, Ky, and daughters, Cathy (Dennie) Burke of Winston-Salem, NC, Susan (Michael) Guilsher of Birmingham, AL, and Nancy (Russ) MacClellan of Ona, WV. She was blessed with 8 grandchildren, Daniel Deal, Sara (Russ) Jones, Jenna (Tim) Morales, Ashley (Damian) Southard, Keith Lipscomb, Stephen Lipscomb, Sam Guilsher, and Catherine Guilsher; and 5 great grandchildren, Ben Southard, Claire Southard, Will Southard, Jane Southard, and Brooke Jones. Mary is also survived by her 3 brothers; Lawrence Baumgardner of Proctorville, OH, Jim (Ann) Baumgardner of Villa Hills, KY, and Tom Baumgardner of Cincinnati, OH. Service to celebrate her life will be held Monday, February 16th at 1:00pm at Lewis Memorial Baptist Church with the Rev. Richard Sexton officiating. Burial will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park.
