Obituary



Marion Elizabeth McCullough, eighty none years old, journeyed to her heavenly home on September 26, 2015. During her brief illness, Marion was supported by her firm faith in God and Jesus Christ and the love of her family and friends. Funeral service will be conducted on Friday, October 2, 2015 at 1:00pm at the Reger Funeral Chapel by Pastor Kim Stone. Burial will follow at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, WV. Marion was born on September 3, 1926 in Huntington, WV to the late Eva Mitchell and Leslie J. Swann. Marion was preceded in death by her husband of sixty-nine years, Lyle D. McCullough, her son, Lyle McCullough II, her sister, Helen Smith, and brother Leslie Swann II. She is survived by her two sons, Dennis McCullough (Debbie) and Mark McCullough (Donna) both of Huntington, WV. A fun-loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother, Marion, Also known as “Mimi”, enjoyed spending time with her three grandchildren, Tiffany McCullough Carroll (Gabe), Sean McCullough, and Lyle McCullough III. Three great grandsons, Sterling, Stephen and Sullivan Carroll also loved visiting “Mimi”. Her home was always a warm and congenial meeting place for family and friends. Three special nephews brightened Marion’s life, Lewis Smith (JoAnn) of Michigan, John Swann (Lisa) of Georgia and Leslie Swann, III (Shirley) of Florida, as well as a host of beloved cousins and friends. Marion’s love of God and country was evident in her membership in several historical societies. She was a proud member of the Buford Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the West Virginia Court of Honor, the National Society of magna Charta Dames, the Colonial Dames XVII Century, the Plantagenet Society, as well as a Kentucky Colonel. Marion was a long-time member of St. Luke Methodist Church in Huntington. Friends may call from 6-8 pm Thursday, October 1, 2015 at the Reger Funeral Home.
