Obituary



John C. Parsley, Jr. of Kenova, WV, was born November 29, 1970. John passed away on December 9, 2017, at the age of 47 after a courageous battle with cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, John C. Parsley, Sr.; grandparents Donald and Grace Smith of Kenova and uncle Don Smith, Jr. of Worthington, Kentucky. He is survived by his mother Sandra L. Parsley; mother and father Carmen Roma Wilson and Dan Wilson; daughters Samantha Rachelle Parsley and Rachael Dawn Fillinger (Aaron Fillinger); sister Laura Jane Caruthers; nephew Samuel Caruthers; brother Jason Roma (Alice Roma), nephews and niece Noah Roma, Karolina Roma, Ethan Roma and Parker Roma and a special aunt Roberta Smith. He was a 1989 graduate of Buffalo High School where he played football and basketball. He worked as a lineman electrician and was a member of IBEW Local 317 in Huntington, West Virginia. He was an avid outdoorsman, a wonderful son and father, devoted brother, coach, mentor (Levi Marcum of Spring Valley), and friends (Brad Gissel, Mr. and Mrs. John Marcum and many more). John left this world a fighter. He was truly loved by his family and many friends, who were also his family. He will be deeply missed. Friends may call from 6-7 pm Thursday, December 14, 2017 at the Reger Funeral Home. A Life Celebration will be held at 7:00pm Thursday at the Reger Chapel with Pastor Rodney Hale.
