Obituary


Robert “Robbie” Phipps, 57, of Huntington, husband of Valerie Hall Phipps, passed away Sunday June 3, 2018 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral services will be conducted at 3 pm Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church Huntington by Rev. Mark Connor. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. He was born December 10, 1960 in Huntington, WV, a son of Christine Foster Phipps and the late James Edward Phipps. Robbie was the Vice President of Sales for Atomic Distributing Co. He was a 1979 graduate of Huntington High School and attended Marshall University where he was a member of the Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity. In addition to his wife and mother he is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Logan and Haley Phipps; daughter, Emily Phipps; granddaughter, Olivia Anne Phipps; sisters and brothers-in-law, Kathy and Steve Taylor and Peggy and Rick Brown; brother and sister-in-law, Eddie and Jane Phipps; father and mother-in-law, Paul and Cookie Hall; sister-in-law and her husband, Kitty and Jeff Schneider; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dogs Frederick Lloyd, Meyer and Spencer. Robbie is also survived by his many lifelong friends and his work colleagues. He will always be remembered for his love of Marshall University Athletics and also THE Ohio State Buckeyes, along with always having a smile on his face. Robbie will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Friends may call from 1 pm to 3 pm Wednesday at the First United Methodist Church.  Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
