Obituary

Larry Lee Morris
(January 31, 1964 - October 1, 2018)

Larry Morris, 54, of Huntington, passed away on Sunday, September 30, 2018 at Cabell Huntington Hospital.  Larry was born on January 31, 1964 in Huntington, WV, the son of late Leah “Dolores” Morris and Verlon Morris, a Huntington police officer. Larry grew up in Cove Gap, WV as a young boy with his late grandparents, George and Bertie “Adkins” Ross.  There he developed a love for fishing and hunting which became his passion throughout his life.  Until he became disabled, Larry was a skilled craftsman who owned a construction company in Huntington which specialized in dryvit stucco and drywall. He resurfaced the interior and exterior of several of the prominent buildings in downtown Huntington, and his work at a local home appeared in “Better Homes and Gardens”.  Larry was preceded in death by a baby son, Larry Lee Morris, his stepson, Raymond “Bubby” Chinn, his step father, Paul “Dexter” Miller, and his aunts, Rose Mary Stone and Pauline Lucas.  Survivors include a daughter, Angela Morris, a grandson, Dylan McLoud, and a stepdaughter, Jackie Chinn.  Larry was raised with his cousins, George “Michael” Lucas and Paula Lucas who considered him a brother.  Larry is a casualty of the Oxycontin deception of the pharmaceutical and medical industries in WV and died from complications of a heroin addiction. Prayers are appreciated for the families afflicted by this opioid epidemic. In lieu of flowers send donations to the Huntington Fire Department for their tireless rescue of overdose victims.  A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.  Reger Funeral Home is assisting the family.
