Obituary

Ancil Adkins
(July 30, 1936 - February 6, 2015)



Ancil Bub Adkins, 78, of Branchland, WV, passed away Friday, February 6, 2015 at St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 pm Monday, February 9, 2015 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel by the Rev. Larry Stevens, Rev. David Cardwell and Kevin Adkins. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery. He was born July 30, 1936 in Branchland, WV, a son of the late Clifford Carl and Lillian Nida Adkins. He was a retired coal truck driver with the C& C Trucking Company in Man, WV and was a member of the local teamster's union. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lawanna Adkins Bacha and her late husband, Clifton Adkins, a granddaughter, Kaydee Adkins, and nieces and nephews, Anita Adkins, Darlene Adkins, Brian Adkins and Tyler Stanfield. He is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Locie Harless Adkins; five daughters and their husbands, Debra and Greg Drown of South Point, OH, Tammy and Bobby Ferguson of Branchland, Kimberly and Scott Adkins of Branchland, Brenda and Howard Adkins of Columbus, OH, and Oweta and Walt Scarberry of Jacksonville, FL; Ryan Adkins of Branchland, his great grandson whom he adopted as a son; son-in-law Joe Bacha of Grove City, OH; one sister, Glenna Rose Cremeans of Salt Rock and her late husband, Rev. Wendell Cremeans; one brother, Howard Adkins and his wife Brenda of Columbus, OH; grandchildren, Amy, Patricia, Shannon, Gary, Kayla, Michael, Terry, Krystal, Jason, Stephanie, Kevin, Jeffrey, Jerry, Teresa, Jenny, Lisa and Melissa; a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a very special friend, Glenn Johnson of Ona, WV. Visitation will be from 6-9 pm Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville.
