Obituary

Joseph Bozzay
(October 1, 1923 - August 5, 2016)



Joseph Bozzay, 92, of Huntington went to be with the Lord August 5, 2016. He was the husband of Barbara McAlpin Bozzay. He was born October 1, 1923 in Kunagota, Hungary, son of the late Stephen and Ester Toth Bozzay. He was the third son of nine children. He graduated from Peter Andros Gymnasium, Korosladony, Hungary; University of Munich with a civil engineering degree; and Montana State University with a master’s degree. He retired from the US Army Corps of Engineers after 37 years of service. He was a member of Scioto Valley Apostolic Church, Dublin, Ohio. He is survived by wife Barbara, one son Joseph (Lauren) Bozzay of Leesburg, Va.; daughters Susan (Don) Gillen of Fairfax, Va.; Sherri (Brian) O’Mara of Hamilton, Va.; and Tamara (Larry) Thomas of Flat Rock, NC; twenty-two grandchildren; brothers Micklos (Aronka) Bozzay of Sarasota, FL; and Paul Bozzay of Hungary. Funeral services will be conducted at Wallace Funeral Home on Monday, August 15, 2016 at 11 a.m. with Pastor Doug Johnson officiating. Friends may visit at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice or charity of one’s choice. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville.
