Herbert Lee
(April 13, 1929 - August 19, 2016)



Herbert Lee, 87, of Salt Rock, WV, passed away Friday, August 19, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, August 22, 2016 at the Wallace Funeral Home & Chapel, Barboursville, by Rev. David Cardwell. Burial will be in Baylous Cemetery, Salt Rock. He was born April 13, 1929 in Frenchburg, Ky., a son of the late Allen and Vada Bias Lee. He was a retired employee of ACF Industries and was a member of Glory Way Baptist Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and playing baseball and softball, and was a coach until he was 70 years old. He was preceded in death by his wife, Stella Mae Lee; one daughter, Joyce Stambaugh; six sisters, Daisy Lee, Ollie Lee, Mary Lee, Ella Johnson, Dorothy Schmitt, and Maude Johnson; two brothers, Alvin “Red” Lee and Roy Lee; and one half-brother, Everett Hill. He is survived by one daughter, Dianna (Michael) Flanagan of Vienna, WV; two sisters, Elsie Childers and Mabel Sabo, both of Brunswick, Ohio; three grandchildren, Christi (Darren) Greathouse of Vienna, Kelli (Jeremy) Sprout of Belpre, Ohio, and Brian (Stephanie) Flanagan of Parkersburg; seven great-grandchildren, Emily Flanagan, Claire Flanagan, Alexis Flanagan, Madalyn Flanagan, Hannah Sprout, Audrey Sprout, and Grace Sprout; his companion, Janice Eddy and her daughters, Susan (Pete) Kelley of Barboursville and Janie (John) Dailey of Fairmont. Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the Wallace Funeral Home, Barboursville. Memorial contributions may be made to Glory Way Baptist Church, c/o of Rev.
