DONOVAN T. "DONNIE" CARSON, 87, of Lesage, widower of Ruth G. Harber Carson, passed away on Friday, Oct. 8, 2010, at his residence. He was born on Jan. 7, 1923, in Cabell County, a son of the late Maxwell B. and Elsie M. Clark Carson. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Rex B. and H.W. "Bill" Carson; one son-in-law, Jim Caldwell; and one nephew. He is survived by one daughter, Donna Caldwell of Lesage; one sister, Genevieve (Brett) Smith of Ona; five nieces and nephews; one special niece, Dawn Price; and other family and friends. The family would like to acknowledge and thank two special caregivers, Charlotte Blair and Kim Wilson. Mr. Carson was retired from Inco Alloys and was the former pastor of the Fifth Avenue Baptist Church in Guyandotte. Most recently he attended Z Warner United Methodist Church in Lesage. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, Oct. 11, 2010, at Beard Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jerry Ryder officiating. Burial will follow at White Chapel Memorial Gardens in Barboursville. Visitation will be held on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
