BASSETT WILLIAM MOORE, 87, of Ceredo passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House of Huntington. Funeral services will be held on Monday at 1:00 pm at Beard Mortuary with Dallas Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Woodmere Memorial Park. He was born on October 7, 1923 in Wayne County, a son of the late Francis Leet and Sarah Elizabeth Marcum Moore. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Bessie Thompson Moore; his ex-wife Goldie Baumgardner Moore; four brothers, Esbon, John, Uhl and Elmer Moore; two sisters, Ruby Black and Siddy Midkiff. He was retired from C&O Railraod and was a World War II Marine Veteran having served on the Pacific front in Okinawa and he was also a recipient of the Purple Heart Medal. He was a member of the VFW Post 9738, American Legion Post 16 and the Marine Corps League. He is survived by one daughter Sharon Kaye (Stephen) Stark of Kenova; one son, Dan (Desiree) Moore of Westmoreland; one sister, Eunice Jones of Brandon, FL; three grandchildren, Sharlie Frye, Chas York (Heather) and Travis Moore; two step-grandchildren, Alyssa Stark and Justin Goodwin (Sarah); four great grandchildren, Hayden Frye, Jacob York, Elijah York, Shaylie Collins; one step great grandchild, Makenzie Dishman; special caregiver Regina Hutchinson of Kenova.  The family will receive friends on Sunday from 6-8 Pm at Beard Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
