WILMA GLENNA SHREVE, 91, of Huntington, widow of J. David Shreve, passed away on Thursday, October 28, 2010 at her residence. She was born on September 18, 1919 in Buckhannon, WV a daughter of the late Wilbert and Delphia Davis Warner. In addition to her parents and her husband she was preceded in death by three brothers, Vane, William and Ronald Warner; two sisters, Thelma Irene Warner and Helen Ruth Veeth. She is survived by two nephews, Ken Koon of Columbus, OH and Bill Warner of Lewisburg, WV; two nieces, Beth Mullens of Lewisburg, WV and Anita Morris of State College, PA; and one great-niece, Jennifer Koon of Columbus, OH. Wilma attended a one room school during her elementary years with her siblings and shared many stories about walking to and from school. She attended the Methodist Church as a child with her family. She also attended and graduated from Buckhannon High School, then went on to graduate from West Virginia Wesleyan College with a degree in Business Administration. Wilma met her husband while they were in high school and married before he left for his tour of duty with the US Army during WWII. After David completed his tour of duty as a Second Lieutenant and had been awarded a medal for Bravery in Action, he and Wilma settled in the Clarksburg, WV area. Wilma worked in this position until her retirement in 1975. Wilma enjoyed reading, golf and bridge and she was a faithful member of Steele Memorial United Methodist Church in Barboursville, WV. As part of the church family she was dearly loved by members of the Steele Singles & More Sunday School Class. Her smile and sweet demeanor warmed the hearts of those who loved her. She was always involved with class activities and enjoyed being a part of worship services too. We will miss her peaceful nature and gracious love for the Lord and those around her. Her sweet spirit brought love and comfort to us all. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.
