ANNALEE DODRILL OXLEY, 89, of Huntington, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 3, 2010 at the Emogene Dolin-Jones Hospice House in Huntington. She was born on September 5, 1921 in Copen, WV, daughter of the late Delbert and Lillie McConkey Dodrill. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Leo E. Oxley, two brothers, Denver and Roscoe Dodrill and one sister, Ruth Dawson. She is survived by one son, Dr. Stephen Oxley and his wife Diane of Bahama, NC.; two granddaughters, Jennifer Oxley of Hillsborough, NC and Kathryn Keul and her husband James of New York, NY; one great-grandson, Lachlan McPherson Oxley of Hillsborough, NC; and a host of special friends and family. Mrs. Oxley served, with her husband, the Seventh Avenue Baptist Church in Huntington from the 1940s until his retirement in the 1970s. In recent years, she was a member of the Union Missionary Baptist Church in Bradrick, OH and a member of the Town & Country Garden Club of Huntington. Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 8, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the Union Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Robert Barbour officiating. Entombment will follow at Woodmere Memorial Park Abbey of Remembrance, Huntington. Friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 – 9 PM at Beard Mortuary, Huntington.
