Charles Lewis Joyce
(November 16, 1926 ~ April 14, 2017)
Charles Lewis Joyce, 90, of
Huntington, passed away on Friday, April 14, 2017 at the Hospice of
Huntington. Born on November 16, 1926 in Huntington, he was a son of the
late Lemuel J. Joyce and Clema Qualls Joyce. In addition to his parents, he
was preceded in death by his grandson, Jason Marsh; brothers, Elwin, William
and Joseph Joyce and his sister, Mary Ellen Via. Charles was an active and
faithful member of the 26th street Baptist Church for over 40 years and was
a proud U.S. Navy veteran who served during WWII and the Korean Conflict. He
retired from CSX Railroad and had a passion for bowling in his free time.
Above all, Charles loved his family. He is survived by his wife of 69 years,
Wilma D.Grahl Joyce of Huntington; his daughters, Karen S. (Roger) Marsh of
Huntington and Pattie(Larry) Bias of Proctorville, OH; his granddaughters,
Shannon (Chris) Perego of Proctorville, OH, Courtney (Kenny) Beter also of
Proctorville, OH; his grandson, Christopher Marsh of Las Vegas; his brother,
Richard (Dottie) Joyce of Vienna, WV; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Nastasha,
Savannah, and Steven Perego, and Kaydin and Zoe Beter. Funeral services will
be held at 1:00 P.M. on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at the 26th Street Baptist
Church in Huntington, with Pastor Tim Arthur, officiating. The family will
welcome friends for visitation at 11:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Woodmere
Memorial Park in Huntington. The family would like to thank the staff at
Hospice of Huntington for their care and support.
