Jeanette Meadows
June 14, 1946 -- April 7, 2009
Carolyn Jeanette Meadows, 60, of Huntington, went to
be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 7, 2009. Carolyn died peacefully in her
sleep at her residence.
Born June 14, 1948, at Welch, West Virginia, Carolyn was the daughter of the
late Gerald K. Meadows, who passed away on February 19 of this year, and
Violet Lea Miller Meadows of Brenton, West Virginia.
Carolyn graduated from Baileysville High School and Marshall University with
a degree in Communications. She retired from West Virginia Public Television
after 35 years of dedicated service as a daily programmer for WPBY
Television (affiliated with Marshall University), a West Virginia Public
Television Education Workshop Trainer, a West Virginia Public Television
Ready to Learn Trainer, and a West Virginia Read To Me Day Coordinator.
Carolyn enjoyed spending time with her immediate family, as well as her
extended family. She was an avid reader and loved preparing her home for
friends and relatives who stopped by frequently.
In addition to her mother, Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Janet
Richelle Frazier (Rae Ray); a granddaughter, Teryn Renee Hubbard; a
grandson, Jayson Malik Griffin; a special niece, Beulah Frazier of Columbus,
Ohio; a sister, Loretta (Steve) Rose of Brenton; a brother, Kevin Keith
(Mary) Meadows of Huntington; three additional nieces, Tara (Bob) Bartz of
Hilliard, Ohio, Joselyn Meadows of Huntington, and Stacy Meadows of
Huntington; a nephew, Richard (Marie) Rose of Huntington; and great niece
and nephew, Gretchen and Matthew Bartz of Hilliard, Ohio.
A memorial service celebrating Carolyn's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on
Saturday, April 11, 2009, at Chapman's Mortuary on Third Avenue in
Huntington. Friends may call one hour prior to the service.
Kenneth R. Stultz II, Minister of Music at Jefferson Avenue Church of God
and close family friend, will conduct the memorial service in honor of
Carolyn�s lifetime goals, dreams and accomplishments. Special friends will
offer loving remembrances of Carolyn. Kenneth Stultz will also provide songs
of inspiration during the service, and Bob Bartz will provide special guitar
selections during the visitation and video tribute.
Chapman's Mortuary in Huntington is serving the Meadows family.
