L. Wesley Watts, 84, of Huntington, passed away
Monday, April 20, 2009, at his home after a short illness. He was the son of
Claude and Hazel Carson Watts. He is survived by his wife of 62 years,
Rosemary; daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Ron Tabor of Hurricane; son,
Richard Watts and Tammy of Charleston; and son and daughter-in-law, Michael
and Alicia Watts of Ona. He is also survived by his grandson and wife,
Jonathan and Tiffany Tabor of Culloden; his grand-daughter, Holly Watts of
Ona; his great-grandson, Jaxon Tabor of Culloden; and his sister, Justine
Watts McDanald of Huntington. He was preceded in death by his parents and
two other sisters, Eloise Wells and Jean Webb. He was a veteran of WWII,
having served more than three years in the U.S. Air Force as a Bombardier
followed by ten years in the Air Force Reserves. He spent most of his
working life in the construction business with Wilson Construction Company
and C. J. Hughes Construction Company. He was an active member of the
Contractors Association of WV, serving as an officer and on the Board of
Directors. He was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church (now New Baptist
Church) where he faithfully served his Lord in many capacities through the
years. His love for his family was evident in all that he did, and he will
always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and
friend. A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Trent Eastman on
Wednesday, Apr. 22, 11:00 A.M. at Spring Hill Cemetery for family and
friends. Chapman's Mortuary is in charge of arrangements
