Iris McFann Prager
(November 5, 1927 - October 5, 2009)



Iris McFann Prager, 81, of South Point, OH, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother, precious in the eyes of God, passed into the arms of God on Monday, October 5, 2009, in Heartland of Portsmouth, Portsmouth, OH. Iris was born November 5, 1927 in Ashland, KY a daughter of the late Blanchard and Roma Dunfee Nash. She was a retired nurse, having worked in Huntington area hospitals. In 1970, she and her family moved to Southern California where she continued her nursing career along with cameo appearances in "Fast Break" starring Gabe Kaplan and "Rocky" starring Sylvester Stallone. God blessed her with creativity in art, writing, and music. She painted several oil paintings, she wrote prose and poetry, and she loved to sing. She played the mandolin as a child. In 1992, she retired and returned to West Virginia, the home that she loved. Her love and laughter will be greatly missed. Survivors include: her husband, Charles '"Chip" Prager; a daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly Dawn and Robert Brown of Huntington; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark Dana and Bonnie McFann of Kenova, WV; a sister, Doris Rife of Inverness, FL; a brother and sister-in-law, Daryl and Mary Nash of Myrtle Beach, SC; six grandchildren, Bobbie Jo Brown of Huntington, Elizabeth Miller of Redlands, CA, Nicholas Dana McFann and Margaret Lynette McFann, both of Huntington, and Norma Jean McFann and Victoria Lorraine McFann, both of Kenova, WV; and five great grandchildren. Graveside memorial services will be conducted 2:30 PM Sunday, October 11, 2009, at Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington, with Pastor Larry Greene officiating. Inurnment will follow.
