Elma
Williamson
(January 9, 1924 - October 18, 2009)
Mrs. Elma Maxine Hicks Williamson, 85, of Kenova,
WV, went to be with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Sunday, October 18,
2009, at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of Cullie
Williamson. She was born January 9, 1924, a daughter of the late Henry
Stephen and Elizabeth Dean Perdue. She was preceded in death by her first
husband, Roy Hicks; a son, Donald L. Hicks; and her sister and brothers,
Eloise Kafkas, Harold Perdue, Henry Perdue, and William Perdue. She was a
devoted wife, mother, and homemaker, as well as a devoted Sunday School
Teacher, Choir member, and was the oldest Church member in the terms of
years of membership, 77 years, at Westmoreland Baptist Church. She is
survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Melvin and Kay Hicks; a son, Robert
Hicks; daughters-in-law, Joyce Hicks and Veria Hicks; sisters, Cynthia
Mikhail and Janie Rhodes; grandchildren, Janet (Wes) Simpkins, Jason
(Brittany) Hicks, Christina (Guy) Frazier, Heather (Stuff) Lynch, and Karen
Hicks; great grandchildren, Natalie and Emily Simpkins, Chance and Grayson
Frazier, and Kaleb and Jacob Lynch; step children, Larry (Jan) Williamson,
Geneva (Joseph) George, Debbie (John) May, Roger (Kelly) Williamson and
Sherrie (Steve) Brewer; step grandchildren, Cullie B. Williamson, Judy and
Timmy George, Brad and Jason May, Austin and Cullie Brewer, and Misty, Alex,
and Ashley Williamson. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm
Thursday, October 22, 2009, at Westmoreland Baptist Church, with Rev. C. J.
Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Spring Valley Memory Gardens. Friends
may call at Chapman's Mortuary from 5 pm until 8 pm Wednesday, October 21,
2009, and after noon Thursday at the church.
