ObituaryPaul Duesenberry Clark Jr. Paul D. "Butch" Clark, 75, of
Huntington, passed away after a long battle with Parkinson's disease. He was
born to the late Paul D. and Anita Wells Clark on February 20, 1942. Butch
was preceded in death by his brother James and by the true love of his life
Judy L. Browning Clark. Butch was born in Huntington, attended Guyandotte
Elementary, Enslow Junior High, and Huntington East High where he was a
superstar athlete and performer in football, basketball, track, and chorus.
He went on to play basketball at Marshall from 1960-1964. Butch was an
extremely talented person who excelled in all areas of the arts and
athletics. He played the lead role in many local plays produced by the
Huntington Community Players. He sang in a local group and played the
keyboard whenever he could. He was a gifted interior designer and a creative
artist. He had a knack for creating beautiful interior designs and painting
unique, thought provoking artwork. Butch loved the water and boating,
especially sailing. He excelled at any sport he played. He could shoot "the
lights out" in basketball; rip a forehand crosscourt winner in tennis; and
drive a golf ball straight as an arrow. He never lost his competitive drive
even as he battled Parkinson's in his last years. He had a wonderful ability
to make everyone he met feel important. Butch is survived by his
sister Carolyn Clark Jarrell of Huntington; Three Children: Paul D. Clark,
III (Belinda) of Huntington; David H. Clark (Rebecca) of Hebron, KY; Allison
R. Clark Rohrer (Alex) of Lexington, KY. Seven grandchildren also survive
him: Logan Clark, Maddie Clark, Maggie Clark, Jonathan Clark, Abby Clark,
Lexi Rohrer, and Kara Rohrer.
