Norman Blaine "Butch" Chapman


Norman Blaine "Butch" Chapman, 83, of Lesage, WV, passed away Tuesday, June 1, 2021, in Cartersville (GA) Medical Center. He was born January 11, 1938 in Huntington, WV a son of the late Homer Virgil and Nancy Olive Adkins Chapman. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Shepard Chapman; a sister, Nancy Sue Chapman Chesne; two brothers, Karl Chapman and Roger Chapman; a step daughter, Carolyn Niswander; and two step sons, Frank Fox and Timothy Fox. He was retired from BASF and was a U.S. Army veteran having been stationed in Korea. Survivors include: a son and his fiancée, Gregory Chapman and Susan Golden, of Cartersville, GA; a step son, Phillip Fox of Lesage, WV; twin sisters, Janet (Howard) Chesne of Barboursville, WV and Janice Chapman of Lesage; several grandchildren, including Shane Chapman, Karlenna Chapman and Felicia Chapman; six great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be conducted 2:00 pm Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Chapman's Mortuary, Huntington, with Pastor Jamie Jefferson officiating. Burial will be in Greenbottom Memorial Park with Veterans Honor Guard Post 16 conducting military graveside rites and Roger Casey playing the bagpipes. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
