Evelyn Marlene Rutherford


Evelyn Marlene Rutherford, 81, of Huntington, WV, passed away Saturday, June 5, 2021, in St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born October 13, 1939 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late Howard Perdue and Drucella Board Perdue Wolf. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Homer Virgil Rutherford; a son, Homer Virgil Rutherford, Jr.; a grandson, Reese Rutherford; and two sisters, Betty Lucas and Lucille Rigney. She was a dietician at Cabell Huntington Hospital for 40 years. Survivors include: two daughters, Mary Beth Moore of Chesapeake, OH and Deborah L. "Debbie" Erwin of Huntington; seven grandchildren, Faith Erwin of Bowling Green, OH, Michael Erwin of Pikeville, KY, Timothy Yates of Huntington, Matt Yates of Huntington, C.J. Charles Yates of Pennsylvania, Sam Rutherford of Huntington and Allie Rutherford of Huntington; thirteen grandchildren; and a brother, Wetzel Perdue of Barboursville. Graveside services will be conducted 10:00 am Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Plybon Cemetery, Huntington, with Rev. Dr. Thom Malcolm officiating.
