Obituary


Evelyn Mae Jobe


Evelyn Mae Jobe, 78, of Huntington, widow of Covie Jobe, Jr., died Sunday, June 27, 2021 at Genesis Heritage Center. She was born July 13, 1942 in Madison, WV, a daughter of the late Everett and Alpha Brown Gore. Additional family that preceded her in death were three brothers and a sister, Alford Gore, Everett Gore, Jr., Jack Gore, and Nancy Jones. She was a homemaker, and had worked formerly at Twentieth Street Bank. Evelyn graduated from Scott High School. She was an animal lover and never met a cat or dog she did not try to feed or to offer a home. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Kimberly and Paul Bradley of Proctorville, and Jennifer Gordon of Huntington; a son, Harold Jobe of Huntington; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Margaret and Al Stalker of Cleveland, OH., and Judy and Harold Collins of Madison, WV; four nieces, Katrina Gore, Beth Ann Kreuger, Jacqueline Stalker, and Karen Stalker; and two nephews, Robbie Collins and Mark Collins. Funeral services will be conducted 12:00 pm Thursday, July 1, 2021 at Chapman's Mortuary with Rev. Danny McSweeney officiating. Burial will be in Gill Cemetery, Salt Rock. Friends may visit after 11:00 am at Chapman's Mortuary.
