Obituary


Joanna Allen


Joanna Allen, 89, of Huntington, widow of Douglas H. Allen, died Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House. She was born September 1, 1931 in Holden, WV., Logan County, a daughter of the late Donavon and Fannie Woolum Huff. Additional family that has predeceased her are two sisters, Betty Huff Lewis and Pearl Peters; and three brothers, Elmo Huff, Jack Huff, and Tom Huff. Joanne worked formerly at the CandO Hospital as a nurse's aide, was a member of the Tri-State Baptist Temple of South Point, and was a member of the St. Mary's Auxiliary for 13 years. Survivors include her two sons and daughters-in-law, Terry and Sandy Allen of Huntington, and Randy and Janet Allen of Columbus, GA; a brother, John Huff and wife, Doretta Huff of Aiken, SC; four grandchildren, Christy Adkins, and husband, Adam Adkins of Huntington, Kelli Allen Jarrell and husband, Stephen Jarrell of Columbus, OH, Rebecca Allen of Orlando, FL., and Bryan Allen and wife, Jessica Allen of Merrill, WI; and four great grandchildren, Liam Adkins, Olivia Allen, Aidan Adkins, and Elise Allen. Per her request she will be cremated and private services will be at a later date. Inurnment will be the White Chapel Mausoleum in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, WV.
