Norma Jewel Mylar
(June 11, 1920 - January 5, 2008)



 

Norma Jewel Mylar, 87, of Jefferson City, died Saturday, Jan. 5, 2008, at Westphalia Retirement Center.

She was born on June 11, 1920, in Hamlin, W.Va., the daughter of Will B. and Ollie Belle Moore Moore.

She was married on Sept. 11, 1936, in Huntington, W.Va., to Charles Warren Mylar, Jr., who died on Oct. 31, 1985.

An honor graduate of Huntington High School, Mrs. Mylar worked with her husband in the family business of Mylar’s Inc., an insurance, license, and tax firm.

She was a former member of Madison Avenue Church of Christ in Huntington where she taught Sunday School for twenty years and served as president of their women’s group. Active in community affairs, she was a former Cub Scout leader and past president of the Huntington Garden Club.

Norma and Warren retired to Stuart, Fla. after selling the family business in 1973. Following Warren’s death, she moved to Jefferson City in 1986 where she was a faithful member of Fairgrounds Road Church of Christ.

Other survivors include two daughters-in-law, Cheryl Becker Mylar, Jefferson City; and Doris Ann Mylar, Biloxi, Miss.; a granddaughter and her husband, Kristin and Luke Frank, Wiesbaden, Germany; and three great-grandsons, Wyatt Charles Mylar Frank; Jonathan Joshua Mylar Frank; and Logan Nathaniel Mylar Frank, all of Wiesbaden, Germany.

She was preceded in death by three sons, Charles Robert Mylar; Kenneth Warren Mylar; and Larry Edward Mylar; one granddaughter, Kelly Jane Mylar; and one brother, Carmel Moore.

Visitation will be 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 8, 2007, at Dulle-Trimble Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7 p.m.

Graveside services will be 1:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 11th, at Ridgelawn Memorial Park in Huntington, W.Va., under direction of Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home.
