Mother Agnes Powell
(January 15, 1910 - August 3, 2009)

Mother Agnes Powell, 99, of Huntington, went on to be with the Lord, Monday, August 3, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Home Going Celebration will be 1 PM Saturday, August 10, 2009 at The Original Glorious Church of God in Christ with Pastor George Scott officiating. Interment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. Mother Agnes was born January 15, 1910 in Youngstown, FL to the late Hugh and Henrietta Palmer. She faithfully served the Lord as a Minister of the Gospel and dedicated her life to helping others. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Cosby Powell; her daughter, Marshall Ann Powell and all of her 14 brothers and sisters. She is survived by four grandchildren, Florida (Derrick Kibble) Powell, Mary (Orlando) Anderson, Joseph (Jennifer) Powell and Yolanda Jones; 10 grandchildren; 7 nephews, Johnny Gilmore, Monroe, Ronnie, David, George, Matthew and Arthur Jr. (Helen); 2 nieces, Mary and Wilma Gilmore; a Son-in-Christ, James Branch; and a host of church friends and relatives. Visitation will be 12 until time of service at the church. The care and service of Mrs. Powell is under the direction of Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington.
