Raymond W. Stewart
Raymond W. Stewart, 70 of Huntington went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, June 10th at home. He left behind many family and friends who will dearly miss him. He was born October 10, 1938 a son of the late Orville and Shirley Stewart. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Betty (Workman) Stewart; one son, Richard Stewart (Peggy) of Huntington; three grandchildren, Richard Keith Stewart, Brian O’Dale Stewart of Huntington and Kimberly Jean Smith (Brian) of Wayne; two great-grandchildren, Ethan and Braydon Smith; and five sisters, Mina Effingham, Delores June Haney, Betty Walker (Homer) all of Huntington, Brenda Marcum of Kenova, and Linda Spence (Don) of South Point OH. He had served in the US Army and was retired from the Dept. of Transportation where he spent over 27 years in a variety of positions. He worked on the road crew as a rest area attendant, Construction Crew and finally as a utilities inspector. He was baptized and saved at the Sunshine Baptist Church of Westmoreland. Funeral Services will be conducted at 10:00 am Friday at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Stevenson officiating. Burial will follow in Mt. Vernon Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 6:00pm to 8:00pm at the funeral home.
