Betty L. Young
(February 4, 1929 - June 29, 2009)

Betty L. Young, 80, of Huntington passed away Monday, June 29, 2009 at St. Mary’s Medical Center. Funeral services will be 2 pm Friday, July 3, 2009 at Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home, Huntington with Pastor Heron Adkins and Bro. Richard Fluty officiating. Interment will follow in Milton Cemetery, Milton, WV. Betty was born February 4, 1929 in Cabell County, WV a daughter of the late Theodore R. and Eva Cumpston Harshbarger. She was a nurse’s aid for Cabell-Huntington Hospital and was a member of Bride of Christ Baptist Church, Chesapeake, Ohio. Survivors include her husband of 36 years, Kenneth R. Young; two daughters, Carolyn S. (Bob) Wood of Huntington and Wanda J. (Charles) Barnett of Chesapeake, Ohio; one step-son, Roger (Sue) Young of Ona; three grandchildren, Christopher Allen Wood, James Wood and Jessica Barnett; five great-grandchildren, Christopher Allen Wood II, Stephanie Alexandria Wood, Jayson Barnett, Justin Walker and Tre Wood. She is also survived by a host of loving friends and her church family. Visitation will be 12 to 2 pm Friday at the funeral home.
