Gloria Jean Greene
(August 31, 1945 - October 12, 2014)

Gloria Jean Greene 69, of Huntington, WV went home to be with The Lord on October 12, 2014 at Heritage Genesis Health Care. Gloria was born August 31, 1945 to Paul Laurence Dunbar Layne Sr. and Norma Mae Edwards of Guyandotte, WV. She retired from Appalachian Life Insurance Company. Gloria was a steadfast servant of God. She was a faithful member of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. And a faithful member of the Christian Women’s Chorus, the Sanctuary Choir, the Mass Choir and the Sisterhood. She was a devoted servant of God, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin, and friend. Gloria was preceded in death by her father Paul Layne Sr., mother Norma Layne, son Keith Layne, and brothers Paul Layne Jr., Ronald Layne, Eugene Layne, and Marvin Layne. Children: James Layne of Huntington, WV, Angela McNeil (Eric) of Charlotte, NC Grandchildren: Zachariah Layne-Wolfe, Columbus, OH, Morgan Fortune, Washington, DC, Tori-Ana McNeil, Charlotte, NC, Ava Layne, Huntington, WV Brothers: Harry Layne Burlington, OH and Matthew Layne Guyandotte, WV Sisters: Betty Brown, Ashland, KY, Patricia Hughes, Guyandotte, WV and Shirley Oden ,Spartanburg, SC Sisters-in-law: Virnilla Layne, Huntington, WV, Brenda Layne, Burlington, OH, Kathy Layne, Burlington, OH, Peggy Layne. Richmond, IN and Eva Layne, Huntington, WV A Celebration of her life will be 1:00 PM Saturday, October 18, 2014 at the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church, with Pastor Reginald Hill, Officiating. Burial will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery. friends may call one hour prior to the service at the church.
