Nettie Lewis Jackson
(August 13, 1939 - January 10, 2015)



Nettie Lillian Lewis Jackson, 75, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, January 10, 2015 at her home. Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Saturday, January 17, 2015 at the Young Chapel A.M.E. Church with Pastor Kerry Williams, Rev. Arlie Ray Johnson and Rev. Roy E. Terry, officiating. Internment will follow in Spring Hill Cemetery, Huntington. She was born August 13, 1939 in Huntington, WV, a daughter of the late James Henry and Clara Martin Lewis. She was a 1958 graduate of Douglas High school. She was retired from Owens-Illinois. She was a faithful member of Young Chapel AME Church where she had been a member of the Senior Choir for over fifty years. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters; twin sister, Bettie Elizabeth Ann Lewis, Clara Deering, Henrietta Garrett, and Gertrude Board; two brothers, James Lester Lewis and Richard G. Lewis; an aunt, Luda Colman of Peach Creek, WV. Ms. Jackson is survived by her loving son, William "Pete" (Alicia) Jackson, III, of Riverview, FL; two sisters, Christine Hayden of Florida and Barbara Ann Johnson of Huntington; two grandsons, Christopher Oneil Jackson of Huntington and Javon Keiren Jackson of Riverview, FL; a granddaughter, Jataya Kristiane Jackson of Riverview, FL; two great-granddaughters; seven very special friends India McCoullough, Ethea Mae Scott, Joan and Harry Chappelle, Bertha Davis, Rev. Roy Terry and Geraldine Jackson. She is also survived by a host of loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends. Visitation will be Friday, January 16, 2015 from 6-8 PM at the Young Chapel AME Church. The care and services for Ms. Jackson are under the direction of Ferrell-Chambers Funeral Home.
