Obituary

ELMER J. MORRIS, 93, of Milton went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 10, 2004, in St. Mary's Medical Center. Funeral service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, August 12, 2004, at Church in the Valley with the Rev. Jim Franklin officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born August 26, 1910, in Cabell County, W.Va., a son of the late Robert and Tillie J. Cooper Morris. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nina Mildred Chapman Morris; son, James Elmer Morris; daughter, Geneva June DiRosa. He was a member of Church in the Valley, a lifetime member of the NRA and a member of the Milton Masonic Lodge. He is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Janice and William Champe of Milton and JoAnn and David Carroll of Oaken, Va.; one son and daughter-in-law, Jack J. and Peggy Morris of Proctorville, Ohio; 13 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, August 11, at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
