Obituary

Elsie Frances Chaney, 84, of Culloden passed away Monday, November 27, 2006 at her residence.  Graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, November 30, 2006 at Forest Memorial Park, Milton.  She was born June 19, 1922 in Hurricane, WV a daughter of the late Willima H. and Emma Sovine Martin.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, William Randall Chaney; her son, Charles Claxton Chaney.  Elsie was a former employee of Becky’s Beauty Box and had clogged with the Midway Cloggers until she was 77 years old.  She was a loving mother and grandmother and dedicated her life to that.  She is survived by two daughters and one son-in-law, Carolyn and Junior Sheets and Connie Carter all of Culloden; three sons and daughters-in-law, Leslie and Arlene Chaney of Citrus Heights, CA, Danny Reed and Suzanne Chaney of Oakridge, NC, and Rick and Devonna Chaney of Hurricane, WV; seven grandchildren, Cathy Humphrey, Lisa Ellis, Heather Phillips, Leigh Ann O’dell, Kendra Fitzsimmons, Kevin Sean Chaney, and Joshua Brent Chaney; eight great grandchildren; and “number three”.  The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to St. Mary’s Home Healthcare and to Hospice of Huntington.
