J. Everett Gillispie of Hurricane, WV departed this life on May 10, 2010 at Cabell-Huntington Hospital, Huntington, WV. Everett was a member of Hurricane Church of Christ. He graduated from Marshall University after serving his country proudly in the U.S. Marine Corps. He retired from Columbia Gas Transmission Corporation. Surviving are his wife, Audrey Chapman (Dickerson); sister, Edie Reynolds; daughter, Melanie Shell (Richard); step-children, Wayne Dickerson (Rebecca), Tanya Dostall (Les), Lisa Felumlee (Randy), and Brian Dickerson; Grandchildren, Justin and Chandler Shell; Bryce, Eric, Emily, Will, Evelyn, Bethany, and Amy Dickerson; Garrett and Star Dostall; Rader, Ramen, and Rylan Felumlee; and Demi Hardy; and numerous nieces and nephews. Preceding Everett in death are his first wife, Evelyn and daughter Lisa Dawn; brothers, Herschel and Carl; sisters, Dolly, Dortha, Vivian, Lula, and Goldie. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday, May 12 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton by Minister Toney Stowers. Burial will be in Milton Cemetery. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Heck Funeral Home.
