Howard C. Oldaker, 80, of Glenwood, WV, passed away Friday, May 28, 2010 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington. Funeral service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with the Rev. Max Spurlock officiating. Burial will follow in Beale Chapel Cemetery, Apple Grove, WV. He was born March 29, 1930 in Glenwood, WV, a son of the late Birt C. and Mary Nibert Oldaker. He was also preceded in death by three brothers, Oshel, Dewey and Walter Oldaker and two sisters, Ora Day and Lorena Booth. Mr. Oldaker attended Faith Gospel Mission, Glenwood, WV. He was a very skilled craftsman, a member of the American Archaeological Society and a retired welder from CSX Railroad. He is survived by his lifelong soul mate, Belva Wallace Oldaker; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Ralph E. Thomas, Jr. and Kimberly Oldaker and Joseph Kidd; very special grandson, Ralph E. “Tate” Thomas III; two very special great grandsons, Cory and Ryan Thomas; one sister, Dorothy Irwin of Glenwood, WV; several nieces and nephews and a host of close friends. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, May 31, 2010 at Heck Funeral Home.
