Freeda Chapman, a teacher in Putnam and Cabell Counties for almost 40 years, went to be with the Lord on March 15, 2011. She was the daughter of the late Creth and Cecilia Sovine Chapman. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold “Buck” and Charles Chapman; sisters, Ida Eves and Martha Chapman. She is survived by her sisters, Evelyn Pullen, Dorothy Chapman, and Wanda Jane (Carlos) Hensley; brother, Donald (Freda) Chapman; sister-in-law, Carol Chapman; nephews, Stephen Pullen and Rodney Chapman; nieces, Linda Morgan, Cecilia Dolen, and Joy Pack; special niece, Amy (Bob) Leslie who was a devoted life long friend and caregiver during her last illness. The family wishes to thank Hospice for their loving care and ask that donations be made to them in lieu of flowers. Donations may be sent to Hospice, P.O. Box 464, Huntington, WV 25709. Funeral service will be conducted 2:00 PM, Friday, March 18, 2011 at White Chapel Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Barboursville with Rev. T.J. DuBose officiating. Entombment will follow the service. Visitation will be from 1 to 2 PM, prior to the service in the cemetery mausoleum.
