Obituary
Harold Jefferson Clagg, 89, of Culloden, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, March 28, 2011 at his home. Funeral service will be conducted 1:00 PM, Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton with Rev. Jackie Clark officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Memorial Park, Milton. He was born September 10, 1921 in Cabell Co., WV a son of the late Tom and Mae Clagg. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Eva Chapman; brothers and sisters, Luther Hatfield, Maxine Zirkle, Dorothy Templeton, Dollie Rosia, and Harry Hatfield. He was a retired welder with ACF Industries. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a Purple Heart and Bronze Star recipient. He served in the European Theater. He was a member of Sousannah Baptist Church. He spent his time farming, gardening, and cow trading. He will be missed dearly by all his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, of 21 happy years, Phyllis L. Clagg; daughter, Sharon Rutherford of Culloden; son and daughter-in-law, Roger H. and Alice Clagg of Hurricane; brother, Eugene Clagg of Milton; sisters, Nellie Ross of Hamlin, WV and Ann Kolarik of Twinsburg, OH; four grandchildren, Brian Armentrount, Jaimie Armentrout, Joseph A. Clagg, and Jessica A. (Travis) Egnor; one great granddaughter, Harper Armentrout; host of family and friends. The family wishes to extend special thanks to Hospice of Huntington, Mickey, Lois, Ginger, and Dr. Michael Skeens of the VA Medical Center. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday, March 29, 2011 at Heck Funeral Home, Milton.
