Jean Scott Morris, 86, of Culloden, passed away on Tuesday, August 25, 2015 at her residence. Born May 29, 1929 in Milton, she was a daughter of the late “Lafe” Scott and Carmen “Ercel” Rogers. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Billy Lee Morris, who passed away in 2013, and her sister, Geneva Scott Hall. Jean graduated from Milton High School in 1947. She was a lifetime member of the Milton Baptist Church where she worked in the kitchen for several years and was involved in the senior exercise program. Jean was an avid gardener and loved landscaping and yard work. She is survived by her children, Sherrill Morris of Mooresville, NC and Stephen Morris of Milton; her granddaughter, Amy Lynn Oakley of Wilmington, NC and her great-grandsons, Brandon and Christian Oakley. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. at Heck Funeral Home in Milton, with Pastor Allen Stewart, officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Memorial Park, Milton. Friends may call on Friday evening from 6-8 P.M. at the funeral home.
