BLANCHE ANN WEBB GRAVELY
(August 16, 1918 - April 30, 2009)



BLANCHE ANN WEBB GRAVELY, 90, of Huntington, passed away Thursday, April 30, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical Center. She was born August 16, 1918 in Mullens WV, the daughter of the late Cal and Phoebe Wills Webb and was the ninth child of ten siblings, six sisters and three brothers. She was educated in Mullens, met and married her husband of 63 years, J.S. Gravely, also of Mullens. She then pursued her schooling as a hairdresser, working and owning her own shops until she retired. She enjoyed watching all sports and often talked of playing basketball for Mullens when she was in high school. (She wasn't afraid to guard anyone.) She was a member of the Mullens Garden Club and loved to work with flowers and make floral arrangements. She and her husband lived in Mullens until 1972 when they moved to Beckley, WV living there until 1992, before moving to Huntington, WV. She was a member and attended Bates Memorial Presbyterian Church of Huntington. She is survived by her husband J.S. Gravely, one child, Jennifer Lynn Barton, and husband Harvey of Huntington, WV, grandchildren: Autumn Conley and husband Jon of Ona, WV, Brooke Merlino, husband Erik, of Lexington, KY, Paul Barton of Huntington, WV and Melissa Smith and husband Clay of St. Louis, MO.; great grandchildren; Spencer and Payton Conley, Emma Kathryn and Isaiah Smith. Funeral services will be conducted on Tuesday May 5, 2009 at 11:00 AM at HENSON MORTUARY 6357 East Pea Ridge Road, Huntington, WV, with the Rev Mike Ducheneau officiating. Friends may call from 6-8 PM on Monday, May 4, 2009 at the Henson Mortuary. Graveside services will follow in Blueridge Memorial Gardens in Prosperity, WV, at 2:30 PM. The family would like to extend their gratitude to all of the caregivers at Wayne Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, for all of the wonderful care she received. It is well with the Lord.
