BETTY JEAN STIVERS
(October 21, 1927 - April 20, 2009)



BETTY JEAN STIVERS, 81, of Milton, WV, passed away Monday, April 20, 2009 at her residence. She was the widower of Ed Stivers, Sr. She was born October 21, 1927, in Lexington, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Lucian J. and Mary McFadden Knight. She was retired Owner and Vice-President of Huntington Tobacco Company. She was a member of Farmdale Church of Christ, Barboursville, since 1974, where she lovingly served as Sunday School Teacher, Youth leader, and hospitality chair. She was also a devoted volunteer at Howell's Mill Christian Assembly. Funeral service will be conducted on Thursday April 23, 2009 at 11:00 AM at the HENSON MORTUARY, BARBOURSVILLE. Friends may call from 6-9 PM on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at Henson Mortuary. Burial will follow in the Lexington Cemetery in Lexington, Kentucky. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother and Sister-in-law Jack Jr. and Alice Knight, Sister Mary Ann Distler. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law Minister Ed Jr. and Phyllis Stivers of Glenmont, Ohio and one daughter and Son-in-law Jackie and Dr. Joseph Thompson of Milton. Five Grandchildren, Jeremiah and Fiancé Ariel Kellenbarger of Naples, Fla., Zachary Stivers of Glenmont, Ohio, Shawndra, Rachelle and Keely Thompson, of Milton. Special friends, Doug and Ann Toothman, Bridget and Phil Roy, Caregivers Carla Peters, Beth Baker, all at Gentiva Home Health Care. Special thanks to Dr. Timothy Saxe and staff.
