MARGARET HAMPTON TURNER
(February 13, 1926 - February 10, 2011)



Margaret C. "Betty" Hampton Turner, 84 of Huntington, passed away Thursday, February 10, 2011 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House; Huntington.  Funeral services will be conducted Monday, February 14 at 1:00 p.m. at the Ridgelawn Memorial Park Mausoleum with Rev. Kevin Snow officiating. Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington.  All arrangements are under the direction of Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. She was born February 13, 1926 in Bluefield, Va. the daughter of the late Clyde Franklin and Frances McReynolds Hanes. She was also preceded in death by two husbands, Harry W. Hampton and William M. Turner; two sisters, Cecilia Hurley Reynolds and Lorene Hurley Allen; one brother, Timothy Hurley. She is survived by one brother, James Patrick Hurley of Fort Wayne, IN; one daughter, Rebecca “Becky” Bledsoe and son-in-law, John Bledsoe whom she adored of Huntington, W.Va; one son, Richard Hampton and daughter-in-law, Susan of Charlotte, NC; four grandchildren, Benjamin Bledsoe of Huntington, W.Va, Kimberly Webb, Samantha James and Scott Hampton all of Charlotte, NC.; a niece and very special caregiver Karen Bills of Salt Rock, W.Va; a nephew, Michael Reynolds of White Sulphur Springs, WV; and great-grandchildren, Chase Allendale, Alex Allendale, Austin Webb, Katie and Elizabeth James all of Charlotte, NC.  Special thanks to Lillie Bazemore and a very special friend, Jane Ellis. She attended Marshall College and worked with the W.Va. Department of Human Services and then the Cabell Huntington Health Department with 20 years of service. She loved her children more than anything however she also loved cooking, gardening, traveling and camping and was an avid reader. Special thanks to Hospice of Huntington for their care. Flowers are welcomed as well as donations to Hospice of Huntington. Henson Mortuary, Barboursville is caring for the family.
