ALMA VANCE CARDWELL
Alma Vance Cardwell, wife of Homer Cardwell, 78 of Huntington, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 in St. Mary’s Medical Center, Huntington, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 15, 2011 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Dr. David Lemming officiating. Entombment will follow in White Chapel Memorial Gardens, Barboursville, W.Va. She was born June 13, 1932 in Cabell, County, W.Va, a daughter of the late Thomas and Florence Davis Vance. In addition to her parents she was preceded by a sister, Ruth Falls, and a brother Harley Vance. Alma was a very gifted person, a precious friend to many, and a loving wife and mother. She was a member of Lewis Memorial Baptist Church She is survived by her husband Homer Cardwell, one daughter and son-in-law, Phyllis and Keith Moody of Athens, Ohio, one son, and daughter-in-law, Wes and Becky Kilgore of Melbourne, Fla.; four grandchildren, Melissa and husband Mike Barker of Cleveland, Ohio, Paige Moody of Athens, Ohio, Lauren and Christina Kilgore of Melbourne, Fla, and one very special great-grandson, Ethan Barker, Cleveland, Ohio, her adored doggie, Benji; and several nieces and nephews.
