GERALDINE QUEEN WHITMAN
Geraldine Q. Whitman, 74 of Huntington, formerly of Stollings, W.Va. passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011 at Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. She was born December 1, 1936 in Laredo, W.Va., the daughter of the late Thomas E. and Pauline (Cook) Queen. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Phyllis Queen Freeman. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, January 28, 2011 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Doug Bell and Jack and Shirley Baisden officiating. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Huntington, W.Va. She was a 1955 graduate of Logan High School, attended Marshall College, retired from C&P Telephone after 35 years of service as a telephone operator and supervisor; member of the Logan Woman's Club and was also a member of the First Christian Church in Stollings, W.Va. She was also the former owner and retired from Queen City Taxi in Logan, W.Va. She also loved planning and attending Logan High School Class Reunions. She is survived by her loving daughter, Heather Renee Whitman of Huntington, W.Va.; her best friend, her dog, Baby; two twin sisters, Marilyn Lou Bush and husband, Don of Whitman, W.Va and Carolyn Sue Queen of Stollings, W.Va.; two nephews, Thomas Victor Harmon of Birmingham, AL. and Kevin Harold Campbell of Charleston, W.Va.; several cousins and a host of family and friends. Friends may call from 6-9 p.m. on Thursday, January 27, 2011 at Henson Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Huntington.
