CATHERINE MARIE COSTA
(January 24, 1923 - December 22, 2015)


Catherine Marie Costa, 92, Port St. Lucie, FL, formerly of Barboursville and Huntington, W.Va. died December 22, 2015. Preceding her in death were her husband, Tony A. Costa; parents Maurice and Stella Riley; brothers Pat Riley (Ruby) and James Riley (Edith); sisters Stella Roush, (Bert); Susan Brothers (Fred); Mary Johnson and a nephew Jimmy Riley. Surviving are sons John Anthony Costa (Elizabeth) of Charlotte, NC and Joseph Martin Costa (Terry) of Port St. Lucie, FL; grandson Anthony Martin Costa (Ashley) of Jupiter, FL; granddaughter Carrie Lynn Ramos (Paul) of Harmony, FL; Selena Marie Johe (James) of Huntington, WV and Kathryn Emily Baker (John) of Fayetteville, NC; great granddaughters Hannah Marie Vickers and Susan Isabella Baker and many nephews and nieces. Catherine was raised in Cabell County, W.Va. and moved to Florida in 2005.  She served in the Navy WAVES during World War II where she met and married her beloved husband of 55 ½ years.  After the war ended she left the service and later was a secretary at Huntington State Hospital until her retirement January 1981. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM on Monday, December 28, at Henson and Kitchen Mortuary; Barboursville, W.Va. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, December 29 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary with the Very Reverend Dean G. Borgmeyer officiating. Burial will follow at Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va.  A reception will be held following the services in the conference room of Dr. David Ross, 6467 Merrick Creek Drive, Huntington, WV 25702. Memorials may be made to Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church where she was a charter member, or the American Heart Association, or the Leukemia Foundation.
