SHELLYE HORN TOWNSEND
(April 5, 1977 - December 1, 2015)

Shellye Ann Horn Townsend, 38 of Huntington, W.Va. went home to be with her Lord, Tuesday, December 1, 2015 in University of Kentucky Medical Center, Lexington, KY. She was born April 5, 1977 in Ironton Ohio the daughter of the late, Paul Edward Horn and Sheila Fraley Horn and her friend, Arlene Kahn of Newark, DE.  In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her father-in-law, John Newton Townsend. She is survived by her loving husband of fifteen years, Douglas B. “Doug” Townsend of Huntington, W.Va; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul Horn (Stacey) of Bellefontaine, OH; mother-in-law, Ruth Ann Sommerville Townsend of Barboursville, W.Va and a host of family and friends. She was a published author and a member of Christ Temple Church where she was also a volunteer.  Shellye enjoyed writing, music and loved God. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Saturday, December 5, 2015 at Christ Temple Church; Huntington, W.Va. with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM until service time on Saturday at the church.  Burial will follow in Ridgelawn Memorial Park, Huntington, W.Va. Henson & Kitchen Mortuary; Barboursville, W.Va. is caring for the family.
