Michael “Mike” Anthony Farley, 60 of Huntington, W.Va. went home to be with the Lord on the loving wings of an angel, Sunday, December 6, 2015 at the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va. after a long battle with illness and a short bout with cancer. He was born November 23, 1955 in Springfield, OH. the son of Joyce M. Holley Farley of Huntington, W.Va. and the late, Max O. Farley. Mike was a veteran of the U.S. Marin Corp. 1st Battalion, 2nd Division and 2nd Air-wing, a Marine Corp. Football Team Player, a member of the American Legion Post #177, a graduate of Marshall University with a degree in Criminology, was also a 1975 Marshall Football Team Player and was also a former Nitro and St. Albans, W.Va. Police Officer. In addition to his mother, he is also survived by two brothers, Larry Farley and David Farley (Joan) all of Huntington, W.Va; one sister, Terry Knight (Bill) of Huntington, W.Va; nieces and nephews, April Knight, Paige Perry both of Barboursville, W.Va., Misty Knight (Aaron), Cody and Brittany Farley all of Huntington, W.Va; aunt, Sis Farley and uncles, Ronnie Holley and Richard Farley. Mike never met a stranger and always loved to pat people to show his affection. The family would like to thank Cabell Huntington Hospital Oncology and Radiation and Hospice of Huntington for their tender care. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va. with Dr. David Lemming officiating. Burial will follow in Rosemont Memorial Gardens; Barboursville, W.Va. The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Wednesday at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary, Barboursville, W.Va.
