JOHN KIRK CLARK
(January 9, 1927 - March 25, 2015)



John Kirk Clark, 88 of Ceredo, W.Va. passed away, Wednesday, March 25, 2015 in the Emogene Dolin Jones Hospice House, Huntington, W.Va.  He was born January 9, 1927 in East Lynn, W.Va. the son of the late Abbey Thomas and Arona Smith Clark. He was the retired owner of Modern Press Printing Company and Boxing Club in Huntington, W.Va, State Chief Department Commissioner of Athletics for West Virginia, coached and promoted the Golden Gloves Boxing, honorary member of the Fraternal Order of Police, member of the Ringside Bros. Association, member of Kellogg Church of God and attended Christ Temple Church.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Jean Wilson Clark; one sister, Helen Clark; three brothers, Cumberland, Abbey T. and Don F. Clark and one grandson, Mathew Kirk Adkins.  He is survived by four children, Sheila Clark Adkins (John) of Ceredo, W.Va., John K. Clark (Erin) of Grayson, KY, Jennifer K. Clark Painter (Rick) of Bethlehem, Ga. and Mickie Rebello (Anthony) of Cary, NC; twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 28, 2015 at Henson & Kitchen Mortuary; Barboursville, W.Va. with Pastor Chuck Lawrence officiating. Burial will follow in Docks Creek Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until service time at the mortuary on Saturday.
