Esther Marie Orr Diederich a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother was 96 of Huntington, W.Va. and she passed away, Saturday, October 21, 2017 at her residence with her family at her bedside. She was born April 21, 1921 in Roanoke, IN. the daughter of the late Otis Otto and Hazel Leona Catlett Orr. She was a homemaker, was the oldest and faithful member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Huntington. She was also a fun loving, happy person, enjoyed crossword puzzles, playing cards and loved watching game shows with her son, Roger. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her husband, Donald Frank Diederich; one son, Alan Diederich; five sisters and four brothers. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Roger (Joyce) Diederich of Huntington W.Va; who provided unconditional love and care for her; three sisters, Lucille Garvison and Delores Petit both of IN. and Maryann Westaver of St. Petersburg, FL; two grandchildren, Matthew (Lyndsey) Diederich of Fayetteville, W.Va. and Emily (Larry) Skrzysowski of Pittsburgh, PA; great-grandchildren, Jace and Reece Diederich and Zoey and Ava Skrzysowski. Special thanks to our caregivers whom we cannot thank enough for their love and support to Esther for her care, Pat, Judy, Margo and Gayle. Thank you also to the Hospice nurses for their excellent care. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Oct 25, 2017 at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Huntington, W.Va. with Pastor Mark Kloha officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 AM until service time on Wednesday at the church. Burial will be conducted on Friday Oct 27, 2017 at 1:00 PM at the Christian Union Cemetery, Garrett, IN.
